Malmö Arena is the venue for Eurovision Song Contest 2013. Capacity of the arena is about 15,000 spectators in concerts but because of the stage and technics, there will be some 10,000 – 13,000 seats available during the contest in May. Arena is located in Hyllie city district and is easily accessible by bus and train, even trains from Copenhagen will stop in front of the arena.
The arena was opened in 2008 and many ice hockey matches, concerts and other special events have taken place there. Also one of the semi-finals of Melodifestivalen have been competed here annually since 2009, also in 2013.
Although the arena is somewhat smaller than where the contests have been held over the past years, it is still relatively large arena. Below you find a graphic where is listed the seating capacity of Eurovision arenas 2000-2013.
